What to avoid before and after treatments in Seoul

Before: heavy sun, tanning, retinol/acids (3 days), alcohol (24 h), aspirin or blood thinners if your doctor allows (3 days), waxing before hair removal. After almost every treatment at Mio: no sauna, jjimjilbang, hot bath, alcohol or heavy exercise for about 1 week; moisturize and use sunscreen; do not pick scabs or bumps.

Korean-trip specifics

  • Jjimjilbang (Korean spa): skip it for a week after lasers, boosters, Botox and lifting. Plan it for the start of your trip instead.
  • Soju and beer: avoid for 3 days after injections, 1 week after lasers and lifting.
  • Hiking Bukhansan, cycling the Han: fine the next day for Botox and PicoSure; wait 2–3 days after boosters.
  • Sheet masks: fine, and helpful, from the next day.
